National Cherry Blossom Festival
The National Cherry Blossom Festival holds a contest to choose the theme art each year. I entered two custom-illustrated poster concepts in 2018 and was chosen as one of two finalists. For the first concept, I depicted a serene sunset with cherry blossoms being visited by pollinators, with the Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument in the background. I included the Potomac River Tidal Basin and the shape of Washington DC as graphic elements. The second concept is a joyful daytime interpretation of cherry blossoms with hummingbirds and the Jefferson Memorial.
